HPU polyurethanes

HPU is the abbreviation for hydrolysis-resistant polyurethane, also known as thermoplastic polyurethane.
Polyurethanes (PU, DIN abbreviation: PUR) are polymers or synthetic resins created by the polyaddition reaction of dihydric alcohols (diols) or polyhydric alcohols (polyols) with polyisocyanates. The urethane group is characteristic of polyurethane.

Polyurethanes, depending on their production, can be hard and brittle, but also soft and elastic. The elastomers in particular exhibit a comparatively high tear strength.
